Anyone can be a student leader!

Club meetings typically follow the Learn to Meditate session or the Soup Supper, and they are scheduled as needed to organize events, brainstorm ideas, and carry out task delegation for administration, planning, and facilitation. Any student in the community is welcome to attend, to feel into their potential for getting involved, and to gain a better feel for how the community is organized.

Our FIRST meeting of the new term will be on Thursday, Setpember 8, 5:30pm, immediately following ‘Learn to Meditate’.  We’ll have some food to see us through the meeting!

The UVic meditation community has official club status with the university’s student union, and as such, there is an official Annual General Meeting (AGM) where any student involved with the community can volunteer and be voted into one of the various administrative and decision-making positions. Additional to this, students can engage in leadership initiatives as they feel inspired and empowered to do so in areas in which they are most passionate. In the past, students have led Sacred Ecology workshops, drum-circles, discussion circles, dance festivals, meditation hikes, activist initiatives, and camping trips! The best way to begin your involvement is to drop in at ‘Learn to Meditate’ to meet the current team and discuss what you can do to help out. And if you have any ideas, feel free to share them!
