Quite a number of you have told me you were looking forward to the Retreat and you wanted to know if you can register yet.  Now you can!  Do it soon, as it will fill up quickly!

Cost: $65,– plus $5.00 for transportation.

UVic Meditation Club Retreat, Join students from our Meditation Club for our next Meditation Retreat – a time to hang out with great people, learn some new meditation, connect with nature with mindfulness and sacred awareness, go for hikes, amazing food, relax time, make music, and just celebrate life. We’ll travel up from UVic together Friday afternoon around 4:00pm. Accommodation is rustic but comfortable in a heated lodge. Bunk beds with two persons to a room. Bring your own sleeping bag or bedding. We share in the planning in the couple of weeks leading up to the retreat.

What you need to bring on the retreat:

– Sleeping bag or sheets/blankets, pillow
– Warm jacket/raingear, comfortable clothes
– Musical instruments, if you wish
— Hiking boots or walking shoes
– Toothbrush/personal items, towel, flashlight
– Reading, writing material, journal, homework
— Cookies and baking to share, if you can.

We will be staying in a rustic camp-like accommodation.
It is heated and comfortable, but don’t expect luxury!

The UVic Meditation Retreat is one of the greatest community highlights for kicking off a new semester with new friends! Up to 30 participants embark on a weekend adventure to Shawnigan Lake for a truly rich combination of meditation and fun, with opportunities to go inward, practice new meditations, engage in enlightening workshops, share yoga sessions, experience the natural world, and nurture the mind and soul — as well as plenty of social time to make new friends in an open, inclusive environment, prepare and share beautiful home-cooked meals, go on hikes, play games, enjoy music jams, and maybe even have a campfire! And amidst all of this, we also benefit from free time for homework, reading, alone time, leisure, and just relaxing by the lake.

Our retreat host, Camp Pringle, is located an hour drive from UVic and offers a fine balance between natural tranquility and all the comfort of heat and showers and a cozy living space.
Food is mostly prepared in advance during a fun (yet optional) cooking bee sometime during the previous week.

The retreat is open to UVic students and friends of our meditation community for a price of $65.00 plus $5 for passengers of a car-pool.
