Tuesdays, 1:30 – 3:00 at the Interfaith Chapel (Henri’s office)
Come join this circle to explore the teaching of Jesus of Nazareth, the spiritual master who stands at the fountainhead of western contemplative spirituality. This is NOT a gathering designed to re-iterate a stereo-typed image of Jesus. Rather, we will focus on Jesus as a teacher of wisdom, of the perennial philosophy that has emerged to transform consciousness from ego-centered awareness to the experience of the non-dual unity and inter-connectedness of all reality. A journey from Mind to Heart. Through various spiritual practices, we will explore whether this wisdom teaching is of any use to us: Does it lead to happiness? Does it help me figure out my life’s purpose? Does it lead to a compassionate life? Does it lead to awakened consciousness? Does it open us to experience the sacred depth of the cosmos? We will discuss the insights offered by Cynthia Bourgeault, a Contemplative Teacher, through video presentations, discussion of her ideas, and experiencing contemplative practice. You will learn contemplative ways of being, drawing deeply upon the radical wisdom of Jesus.
Like all weekly offerings, the circle is free. Simply let Henri know that you’re coming, firstname.lastname@example.org.
